The Town of Salmon Cove council would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone involved in helping our community and surrounding communities affected by the Kingston Wildfire.
Special thanks to our Salmon Cove/Perry’s Cove, Victoria, and the North Shore Volunteer Fire Departments, who fought this Wildfire from the moment it started.
We would like to acknowledge and thank all volunteers including Fire Departments who came from across the province and country to offer support in any way. Those who offered food, clothing, and shelter to those in need, your dedication and effort, cooperation and resilience during this challenging time is to be commended and has not gone unnoticed.
Over the past few weeks, we have met some amazing, hardworking, and dedicated professionals at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) who have assisted us in navigating the unknown. The support and professionalism at the EOC including all Government Departments, was greatly appreciated.
Since evacuation on August 7, 2025, staff and council of the towns of Small Point – Adam’s Cove and Salmon Cove worked effortlessly and side by side to release a collaborated post that informed all residents with the most accurate and updated information.
We would like to finish by thanking our residents for their patience and understanding during this most difficult time.
An incredible effort was made by all.
