Mayor's Message

Welcome to the Town of Salmon Cove.

It is a great honour and privilege as Mayor of our beautiful town to write this message. It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you our newly formed council. We have Deputy Mayor Allan Oates and Councillors Marylynn Layman, Diane Peach, Roydon Case, Ryan Burton and Jonathan Whiteway. We are all very excited to work on behalf of our residents to make our town a place for you to visit and want to come back to year after year.

Since 2020, we have all certainly had challenging times. The Coronavirus, with so many variants has certainly changed the way that we live life, attend events, spend time with family and friends. However, we are getting through it, and things are looking up. All because we did our part. Thank you to each one of you for doing yours.

This is an exciting year as we welcome our family and friends back to our hometown for “Come Home Year 2022”, we invite you along with your families to visit our town and take in the amazing view from the “Trail Of The Eagles”, as you hike along the scenic shoreline to the top of the trail. We hope you cath a glimpse of the bald eagles as they next high in the trees. As you gaze our over the Atlantic Ocean, you may have the honour of seeing the whales swim by and give you the perfect show for your entertainment.

While visiting our town, we invite you to spend a day or two relaxing on our unique, amazing, beautiful sandy beach. Here is where you can watch the sun rise and set from the very same place. We also invite you to have some fun and games, enjoy a swim, and have a picnic with your family and friends. We are sure once you have seen this amazing place, we will be welcoming you back in the years ahead.

During your visit to our town, don’t miss out on the most beautiful view of our community, from the “Iron Horse Trail”. We encourage you to take a walk along the trail where the CN trains once ran. It’s a great place to take some wonderful pictures of our town, beach the amazing Atlantic Ocean. Once again, another great place to take a rest, have a picnic lunch and enjoy a breathtaking view of the place we call home.

While visiting our town, please feel free to drop by our town office for any information. We are sure that our friendly staff will be more than willing to help you in any way and they too would certainly enjoy a chat and welcome you.
